2 year old LG 42" TV is dead

Bought an LG 42" tv 2 years ago. Last four months only get 1/2 a picture. Left side is completely black. The part that contols the problem is over $450.00 wholesale. LG says that's too bad sucker! Live with it. I asked if they wold sell me one at cost. Good luck with that! Their attitude is that our warrenty gives adequate time to see if our product works, after that you are on your own. Will never buy an LG anything or gor that matter will never buy another Korean made product. Stay away from LG

LG has Horrible customer service

My NEW washer is broken. I called customer service and they will not set up a repair until I give them the serial number. I would love to do this, but LG put the number on the back of the machine. I cannot move the machine to see the number. They will not set up a repair until they have the number. Why do they put the serial number on the back??? I have called three times and they keep telling me to move the machine. It is filled with water, in a tight spot, and I am not that strong.

LG Producst are questionable quality

We purchased a new LG dishwasher and within 3 months the pump went bad, then about 9 months later it went again. It does not do a good job of cleaning the dishes either. Well once warranty is out it will get replaced when it break again. Does anyone make a good dish washer out there that lasts? One more thing, you cant get just anyone to do a repair, they must be licesnced by LG or no work can be done and no parts are available. Thats fine when you have time to wait but not good when you need it done now!

LG dishwasher model# LDS4821

LG Electronics - LG dishwasher model# LDS4821
I would give LG service negative stars if I could. I purchased a dishwasher in April, model# LDS4821ST, and the unit has worked pretty well. Recently and suddenly, the paint on one of the control buttons started to come off. I called LG, sent them pictures and was told that it was a cosmetic problem and they would not repair. I understand if this was a year or 2 from now but 4 months after purchse the paint is coming off? It is an obvious quality problem. I purchased a washer and a drier from LG about 5 years ago and feel they were of much better quality than their current products. I bought a fridge as well in April and that has problems already as well. LG was totally dismissive and worse, refused to send me their response in writing! I'm still paying for the appliance that already looks *** DO not buy their products, find a company with a good service!

Life is NOT good with LG

I purchased and LG refrigerator, washer and dryer. The washer always leaves water standing so I have to keep the door open to prevent it smelling like a swamp. I often have to re-wash a load to eliminate the smell. Lately, it's almost impossible to get a load done in one try. It gives me a '1E' message toward the end of the cycle. The clothes are dripping, and I have to rerun the load, sometimes 2 or 3 times, to actually get it to spin the water out correctly. Of course, there's no 'spin only' selection, so this is costly in terms of electricity and water. The dispenser doesn't work for the detergent, so I have to place detergent directly into the washer. As for the refrigerator, the icemaker stoped working just after the warranty expired. Even the repairman thought it would be covered since it was so close, but NO. They wanted $750 to repair it. Guess what? I left it when we moved and bought an Amana. Never again will I purchase an LG product! They are pooorly made, they don't stand behind their products, and customer service is a complete joke.

More Than 3 Weeks To Fix My LG Gas Dryer!

I bought a LG Dryer from Home Depot in March of 2010. Consumer Reports had rated it as better than average so we went with it. We then decided to purchase the matching washing machine. About a month ago, my wife smelled gas by the dryer. I checked all the connections and cleaned the exhaust vent. This seemed to fix the issue. One week after, she smelled the gas again - first outside coming from the vent and also inside by the dryer. I immediately shut-off the gas, let the room clear of the smell and then turned the gas back on. We didn't smell anything. So my attention turned to the dryer and started to research on the web what would cause this condition. It didn't take me long to determine that LG had a few issues with this dryer. One gentlemen reported almost the same conditions I was experiencing and after several attempts to correct the problem, the technician replaced the controller board (a $200 item). The other issue was the drum weld which would let go (I didn't have that issue). So I contacted LG support who quickly informed me that my warranty had run out but they may extend it based on a decision made but a supervisor. I was told this process takes 3 to 5 business days. I was also told to send them a quick summary of what happened and to attach a copy of my receipt which I did. After the sixth day, I hadn't heard anything, I again contacted the same Service Advisor. She informed me that to resend the email because she couldn't open the attachment! I sent it again. That evening I called LG again and got another service representative. He apologized and asked me to send him the email. He opened it on the phone and had no problems. I received the news that LG would extend my warranty and was told to contact them to setup an appointment for service. I called and LG gave me 2 companies in my area for service. I called the first who informed me that they no longer supported LG products. I called the second and he informed me that he would be out on Saturday (2 days from now). The tech came out on Saturday and determined that the controller board was bad and he would call me in 3 to 5 business days when the part comes in! My expectation was he would repair the dryer that day, not just evaluate it! I called LG and asked for a supervisor. Some fifteen minutes later, he got on and then explained to me this is the process and there's no way around it. I have an extensive Service Delivery background and we discussed the pros and cons of their process passionlessly! It was the holiday weekend and the part couldn't be ordered until Tuesday. I asked that the part be shipped over night (which I had to pay for) with the hope we could be drying cloths by Wednesday. The tech was suppose to call me on Tuesday to inform me the part was ordered which he didn't do. I called the tech on Wednesday and he informed me that the part had not been ordered and there was a financial issue with LG! He also told me that I may have to find another technician (which LG said I couldn't do once the extended warranty number was given to this tech). I called LG again and I asked for a supervisor. She finally got on and I explained the latest issue. She asked if I minded waiting on hold. After almost 20 mins on hold , she came back and said she was still working the issue and would call me back which she did in about 45 mins. She informed me that the issues were corrected with the tech and he would order the part over night and call me the next day to schedule an appointment. The tech called the next morning and informed my wife that the part had come in and he would be by to install it between 2 and 4pm. I took vacation time off from work to ensure I would be available when he showed up. When I got home, (around 3pm) I had a message on the phone from the tech informing us that the part hadn't come in and he had to reschedule for the next day. I called the tech and wanted assurance that he would be at my house at a specific time. He said he would call me when the part arrived and then come over and install it. I left work at 2pm and called the tech. The part hadn't arrived yet via UPS. I asked if he had a tracking number. He only had an order number and he was attempting to contact UPS. While I was on the phone with LG, the tech called me back informing me that he had received the part and was in route to my house. The part did fix my problem. LG has lost a customer because of their lack of customer focus, their lack of communication and most importantly their lack of concern that one of their customers were down for almost a month. I will never purchase an LG product and suggest you don't. We as consumers need to stand together and demand quality products and when they break, quality service to back-up their product. The lack of concern was amazing – hiding behind their processes is not the answer! By saying they're sorry we're going threw this and then not working with you to fix it is unacceptable. Finally the call waiting music SUCKS!!! They should rename the company to NLG (Not Living Good)

Disgusted at LG Washer

Every other load the LG Frontload Washing machine goes off balance. At the end of the spin cycle, the machine repeats the rinse/spin cycle over and over until it goes off balance or I manually stop it. This causes the clothes to never spin fully dry. I've contacted LG and they won't do anything, because I can't find the original bill of sale from Sears - although Sears did give me a printout showing a summary of my purchase from 10/3/2010 which includes the model number of the LG Washer, but not the purchase price.

LG has horrible customer service

My NEW LG washer is broken. LG will not schedule a repair until I tell them the serial number. LG put the serial number on the BACK of the machine. How am I supposed to get to it?? why do they put it on the back in the first place?? Why can't they schedule service and the technician can move the machine and verify the serial number?? I have called customer service three times. All they keep telling me is to move the machine. It is filled with water, in a tight spot, and I am not that strong.

My company provides LG warranty service and I can tell you they are rotten *** Most of the time they barely pay us due to all this reciept serial number garbage! And they have very little parts or tech support, it takes weeks to get a part as they, have no distribution in the USA, they should be banned from selling their product here until they comply to US manufacturers levels

LG Won't Replace Defective Refrigerator That Was Dead on Arrival

I purchased $1700 of LG appliances & had them delivered on 9/27/11. Within 2 days, it became apparent the refrigerator (LTC19430SW) was not getting cold.

I called LG and they referred me to an appliance company. The service technician inspected the refrigerator said all the freon had leaked out (onto my floor) and the refrigerator was unusable. When I called LG customer service (3 different times) I was told that I would not receive a new refrigerator. My only option is to have the "new" non-functioning refrigerator repaired.

Stay away from LG! Their customer service is horrible, they sell defective products, and they abandon their customers.

I purchased 2 smart phones from LG officially website, and i decided to return the phones back after i read so many complaints, the boxes are still sealed with the phones in and LG playing hard ball with me to give me the authorization return RMA number they keep play me from one departament to another until my 14 days warranty will be avoided.

I wish I had read this post years ago. I work for an appliance retailer in Canada.

I am in charge of all damage claims and defective returns, and I can tell you; LG makes my life a living ***. *Ironic, considering LG is supposed to stand for 'Life's Good'-- That aside, with ALL LG appliances, they have a 15 day DOA exchange policy. Don't go to LG, don't ask for a discount or repair. Whatever the defect, go to your retailer, tell them it's dead, insist on getting a replacement.

No word of a lie.

I hope this helps someone. I'd rather no one bought their appliances.

LG Doesn't seem to stand by any of their refrigerators! In my case, the ice maker drops cubes which melt, thus causing the front of the door to RUST!

I was told my kids must have scratched it, so they will do nothing. Funny thing is, I have no kids, and only two adults live here. Also, it is seldom opened, save to get out food for three meals a day, again by my wife or myself. We are mature enough to not open the door with a can opener or carve our initials into the door, thus causing the rust problem.

We spent almost $3,000 for an item we thought would last us. We were definitely wrong, but as they say fool me once....

I purchase an LG refrigerator back in sept 2006, within a month had to replace ice maker, no cost. a year later in october I got home from work oped the refrig door and it must have been 200 degrees in the frig, a chicken on the top shelve was cooked.

the light housing was dripping with plastic, the interior cabin bubble up. I called lg and they told me the frig was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do. I paid over $2,500 for this frig. I called the local lg rep and they told me the same.

On monday 11//7/11 I received a letter about a class action law suit saying LG knew about this problem.

We still have the refrigerator, I call LG up and a service guy is suppose to come today, I hope LG has the integrity to replace this refrigerator, I still have original melted housing, If they don't replace, I will have to get the media involved and rip them apart to expose the lowsy customer service thay have that others are complaining about. stay tuned will post there what they have to say.

Sorry nikalseyn, but maybe YOU don't mind having a brand new, never used refrigerator repaired, but not me. I didn't buy a reconditioned refrigerator, which is what it becomes after the repair.

I don't know anyone who would find your solution acceptable. You must work for LG.

John N Mzy

The fridge is under warranty and LG will repair it during the warranty period. "repairing it" doe NOT mean giving you a new refrigerator!!

Once the freon is replaced and the system pressure-tested, it will be like new. Get over it.

If a fridge has an internal leak, such as this one, nothing can be done to make it 'good as new'. It will never properly cool the fridge and it will live a very short life. The service center should have been able to get LG to authorize an exchange.

LG sold me a $400 lemon

In June 2010, I purchased an LG air conditioner. Over the next 13 months, I used the unit for 5 months. Then it broke. I called LG. They provided terrible customer service and refused to make an exception on the limited warranty. Facing $275 in repairs, I decided to do this: http://vimeo.com/live432/sayonara Later this week, I'm sending this philm to LG's customer service department, a few of their upper management execs, and blasting it all over the social sphere. My qualm is based on principle, not reimbursement. Enjoy and thanks for watching. -Phil 100.

LG is a rip-off!!!

I bought a LG refrigerator in March, 2011. Now it is time to replace the water filter, but only LG sells it. If you need your filter replaced it will cost you $78 plus $10 shipping!! The old filters cost between $50 & $60 and I found it where I bought my appliance so I did not have to pay for shipping. When I called customer service they were of absolute no use & very, very unhelpful. They just wanted to pass me to their parts department as quickly as possible so they did not have to deal with an upset customer. BAD, BAD, BAD policy. Run away from this company!

LG customer service is horrible. I have a dryer that isn't six months old and it stopped working.

Auth repair center blew off appt today and LG just gives me another center to call. They need to take the bull by the horns and associate with only superior service centers. Keep this *** up and you will be out of business. Just think how many people I will tell of this horrible experience.

You should have offered to expedite another service call tomorrow and you should have called me not made me do the legwork. Welcome to 2012!!!!

Get with it. :sigh :(

Living

They will leave it at your front door if they deem it's safe. BUT not to ring your bell! I would definitely make a call and complain and let them know your front door is not a safe place to leave a package in your neighborhood.
