Lg Electronics in Hilliard, Ohio - Rusted Top Load Washing Machine
I bought an LG top load washing machine and I noticed it started rusting around the bleach dispenser. I contacted LG and they said it wasn't their problem. It started getting worse and I was able to find a replacement for $140.00. Thank God I was able to replace it and my boyfriend installed it. I believe LG should reimburse me the $140. They have had numerous complaints about this particular model rusting around the bleach dispenser and have done nothing. When replacing the old one, we found it was rusting underneath. Poor appliance, horrible customer service and horrible company.

I have the same issue after a year of ownership. Tried sanding and painting with appliance paint and the rust came back. Now it has spread from the bleach fill area to the practically the entire tub and hinges. Thought I was the only special one with this issue only to find out I'm not alone. LG will only pay attention if someone gets hurt not your clothes. But it's still a defective product. Reminds me of my grandma's 1960's machine that rusted. Didn't think we were going backwards but LG has shown us the way. I won't be buying/using another LG washer (even if they gave me one) due to this rusting issue. I will stick with GE Profiles. Never an issue with them.

Same problem! In 2017 LG makes a washing machine that rusts.
Your clothes are not clean. Beside the obvious poor quality and performance of LG washers and dryers, Energy Standards require the washers and dryers to have certain parameters that conserve energy. How a 1.5 hour wash cycle with a possible rewash can be energy efficient? Google it.
I spoke with a plumber and he told me his wife soaks his work clothes otherwise they are simply not clean.
I noticed recently the new products to make your wash smell good. From that I presume I am not the only person who believes their clothes are not clean.

I have model WT5070CW top load LG, bought from Sears in July of 2012. Had the flake issues and still do coming from the drum on to my clothes.
And, now the rust around the bleach dispenser. Called LG for both issues, they said nope cant help will offer a discount if you buy a new LG machine.
NOT. Will not buy them again.

How long have you had these appliances? Since you are getting Asurion involved I expect your appliances are beyond the one year manufacturer's warranty. As Home Depot doesn't service appliances your complaint should be with Asurion who provides the repairs under the extended service plan you purchase, not Home Depot.
