Called weekly (at least) and was promised every week the Nexus 5x phone would be fixed under warranty and shipped back the following week. Six weeks later, LG finally apologised and offered a new phone with a 12 month warranty that would arrive the following week.

Instead, was sent a refurbished LG brand phone 8 weeks later with 90 days warranty. Requested supervisor ( LG employee) and was told it was policy and nothing further could be done. -- What exactly happened? Describe your experience in 100+ words.What exactly happened?
