I could not connect my new LG 4k smart TV to the internet. It recognized the network but failed to connect even after multiple attempts.

LG tech support told me that the TV set must be within ten feet of the router to make a connection, which was impossible with my set up. I considered a wifi range extender and called Comcast to seek their advice. They immediately suggested I exchange my Modem-router for a newer 2 band model, which connected immediately. The set lacks an analog audio output and lg tech support told me that it was impossible to get analog output for my earphones.

I called tech support at the earphone company and was advised to get an analog to digital converter, at a cost of ten to fifteen dollars. This worked and now I have connection to the internet and output to my earphones despite the bad advice from LG tech support.
