All of a sudden the dryer was drying fine and then when I checked on it 15 minutes later, it just stopped and now it barely turns on now. I unplugged it and gave it a 15 minute break and it still did not work. The only thing that was in the dryer was a winter jacket

Verified Reviewer |Customer service center runaround from LG
November 2024 I purchased LG top loading washer at home depot. Last month the washer started cutting off with a code.
(IE ) water supply problem was the code defined. Went online lg first to resolve issue. I did everything that it said to do to resolve issue. Except one.
The pressure switch on the water level in drum. That required me to disassemble part of the washer. I felt it might void my warranty. So not doing it.
I called LG customer service who required pictures of my fill hoses on the inlet of my washer and of connection to water cut off valves of my house. Home depot told me when I purchased my washer new water supply hoses were required. No problem. I believe $35 is what they cost.
LG support said those are the wrong hoses and sent me a TEXT pictures of their brand of hoses. Their brand didn't have metal pipe 90` turns cramped to quality rubber hose. LG hoses were just straight hoses that would fold over a piece off water when washer was pushed back. I went through all their check list and nonsense only to see it didn't fix the problem.
They told me to do a wash cycle and text my results to them and they would call me back! We'll I did but they did call so I called back and spoke to someone else exact same thing but it was harder this time due to their limited grasp of the English language Annunciation of words! Again called back 3rd time next day. Please note these call lasted from 1.5 to 2 hours each.
3rd call they had me pull my drain hose out to measure how deep in went in. I measured and took picture of depth 4.25 inches tape measure and pipe in picture. They told me to cut it ogg less than 4" and I dud and sent picture. They sent digital manual to me.
And talked to me like I was stupid when I told her she was wrong about drain. And told her I believe it was pressure switch. She said run wash cycle and she would call back when I sent report of what resulted. YEAH RIGHT!
That didn't happen!!! This is what really pissed me off. I called back there were three options one was to get a new service tech the other was can reconnect with your service tech I can't remember what the third one was I tried to reconnect let me tell you what LG does to you when you do this every 20 seconds they make you push too to stay on that line trying to wait for this person I pushed two every 20 seconds for 18 minutes what's he trying to do is drive you away from their site drive you away from customer service by making it so hard to stay on that line well 18 minutes and I got nothing so I called Home Depot explain it all to them well they said it's still under the warranty for us installing it they are sending a technician out in a week because I have to have eye surgery and I couldn't do the day they offered to come out once this is done they're going to put it through to their escalations Department who is going to get on the phone with them me and LG I haven't had a washing machine in almost 3 weeks now and when they told me that during the third call that my drain hose had me run Lacross the bottom of the floor you know and then put up and tied up at an angle the hose would barely even reach the one thing of my drain let alone run flat across the ground and they supplied the hose they go out of their way not to fix these that's why in 2004 they had a class action lawsuit for their washers same deal same thing. If Home Depot had not have stepped in I don't know what I would have done they wanted me to pull the washer out I'm 100% disabled they told me to hire a plumber here's my Saving Grace in South Carolina they allow us to record calls which I did.
I will never buy LG again.
Not because of there products but because of in my opinion the company and customer service don't give a damn about the customer or their warranty Final note the digital manual they sent said do not exceed 8" of drain hose in drain NOT 4" like LG said! DUH!
User's recommendation: Don't buy LG not because of the product but because of the terrible after the sale warranty and worse customer service

Verified Reviewer>1.5 yrs TV not working properly out of the blue
I got an LG TV less than a year and a half ago, and now a vertical line suddenly shows up on the screen in certain blue hues. I called LG, and they had me do a screen test and text them a bunch of pictures, and immediately agreed that the entire panel needed replacing, but that I'd have to pay the repair with a local company off their list.
The companies I was given either didn't answer, had a disconnected phone, had terrible online reviews, or had an attitude issue. Finally, I got one to give me a price—almost $400 without tax. I begged LG to cover the labor cost because I didn't do anything to damage the TV, and all they could tell me is that their 5-year warranty only covers parts, but within the first year, they would’ve covered labor too, despite it being a defective product.
So I'm expected to pay $400 plus tax out of the blue—terrible service and limited sympathy. They weren't kind about it either.
Preferred solution: materials & labor covered for the repair/part replacement

Verified ReviewerBroken dryer ... RIDICULOUS repair charge request
Their solution was to offer me a small coupon against a future purchase, then ghost me.
I got the error code myself. The initial troubleshooting steps lead me to believe it's probably a simple fix.
The code indicates a gas problem. I've inspected the connections and the hoses and valves. There is not a gas input problem.
First off, I did online chat with a tech.
They kept asking me the same questions and tried to push it off on the gas company. I explained...the gas runs from my boiler to my hot water heater to my dryer and then to my kitchen stove. The boiler, hot water heater and stove are receiving gas just fine, if there was a problem anywhere on the line the stove would malfunction before the dryer, ergo there is a problem with the dryer. Vents were cleaned, lint traps cleaned, hose inspected, straightened out even the smallest crimps/bends.
Unplugged and replugged the dryer to reset. Still get the code. Called the gas company, they assured me if there was a leak or loose connection I would smell it, and it's not something you'd miss...just lighting my gas stove I smell it...there is NO way I have a gas leak. The gas company says it has to be an appliance issue.
My first online chat, I don't know how many times I had to explain this.
They tried to get me to run the diagnostic when I had already given them the code. I had to give the same model and serial and contact info I'd entered in. Finally I was told they would call me back during the week...they had forwarded my information and I shouldn't have to repeat it all again.
Day and a half goes by...no call. I call, navigate their phone tree, get a real person.
They gave no record of my call. After 20 mins they offered to transfer me to repair (after again trying to push it off on the gas company). I was placed on a long hold...I had to call back bc I was out of time.
When I did call back I got through the crap...within 5 mins they were transferring me to repair. I still had to repeat details.
Finally they said they'd have the actual repair center call me to set it up. If we can just have your cc, we will charge a $399 flat repair rate, plus taxes and a 15% hold fee...when they're done they'll release the hold and charge $399.
$400? For a 4 year old dryer that probably just needs a burner? When she asked if she could place the hold I said absolutely not, I intend to contact your highest level customer service.
Do you have that number?
What do you mean? Like service?
No...like if you bought what you perceived to be a quality product that should last a decade or more and it went out in 4 years and they wanted to charge you 2/3 of what you paid for it to fix it even though it should have gone out, who would you call to complain. She's sure I can find that information on their website. She assured me it's competitive.
I mean $200, I'd be upset, but I'd pay it.
But we're talking what will probably take a tech 30 mins and a $15 part. Neurosurgeons don't charge that much. Flat rate? They should send someone out and estimate the cost to fix it.
I suspect planned obsolescence. I mean I almost would be better off buying a new one.
That's highway robbery. And a good quality dryer would not fail in 4.5 years.

Verified Reviewer |Service charge reimbursement declined.
I contacted LG customer service regarding a repair to the broiler that was done on our electric range on Tuesday, January 7th to dispute the charge ($370) for the repair. I sent photos of the burnt connector (taken by the LG technician) and explained that rather than a component failure, the problem was due to a poorly crimped connection done at the factory which was acknowledged by the technician at the time of the repair.
I also indicated that had this been a component failure I would have been surprised but would not have contested the charge. The refund has been denied.
User's recommendation: Stay away from LG. If you need repair ensure the technician properly documents the issue.

Verified ReviewerHot fridge, trashed food, no help.
My fridge broke down on Sunday and I had to throw away all of my food. It's a 6-month-old fridge.
Customer service is closed on Sunday and the chatbots are useless. On Monday, I am somehow able to get a chatbot to let me schedule an appointment, but only on a day I need to work. On Wednesday, I finally speak to a human! However, they won't take any steps until I troubleshoot the fridge myself, which I can't do because I'm at work.
I try again on Thursday after work but customer service is closed. I've paid $1,500 for a hot box that ruins food and offers no help.
Preferred solution: The fridge should be fixed and given an extended warranty at no cost to me. If a manufacturer cannot guarantee their expensive appliances will work they shouldn’t be in business.

Verified ReviewerNo user's manual
I bought an expensive LG 55-inch 'smart' TV about 4 years ago (I refer to it as our retard TV). The TV keeps doing things on its own, and since no user's manual was provided, I have to do exhaustive research or call LG to find out how to 'fix' the problem and document the fix for future reference.
Some examples of the things I have had to fix or correct are: turning channel timers off, changing labels for input locks, turning off 'audio guidance' (many, many times), and turning off closed captioning (on everything). I was surprised to learn when unpackaging the TV that there was no user's manual included. When I asked LG why not, their response was that they opted to put the 'user's manual' online so that it could be periodically updated to stay current. So what!
The online user's manual is not user-friendly or in any way intuitive.
I have never been able to find an answer for anything I tried to find out. Now, after four years, my TV is flickering on and off repeatedly, and it appears to be a problem with

I bought an expensive LG OLED 55 inch TV 4 years ago. I don't think I've ever regretted a purchase more.
This "smart" TV (I refer to it as our retard TV) keeps doing things I don't want oit to do: e.g. turning on closed captioning (for everything), turning on "audio guidance", turning on channel timer, etc. Each time, I have had to do an exhaustive search to find out how to turn these features off (and writing down the procedure for future reference. I was surprised to find out, when I unpackaged the TV that there was no "User's manual".
Instead, LG has an on-screen users manual, which is impossible to use. I have never been able to find an answer to anything I was trying to find. LG's response to y complaint was that they put their manual on-line so that they can update it periodically so that it is always currrent. So what!
What good is that if it is totally worthless to begin with? I will NEVER buy any LG product again.

Verified ReviewerLG WASHER two months and no service call
Our top-of-the-line LG washer, which is still under warranty, has been sitting broken for almost two months. We contacted the service people in early April; since that time, they have made and canceled appointments, with our next appointment being June 5. We had to buy a brand new washer today, not LG, because we have absolutely no confidence that LG will repair this washer.

Verified ReviewerBeware of this horrible brand LG
Hello everyone, today I will be talking about how LG is the worst refrigerator brand on the earth. I have owned my LG fridge for around 4 years, and in the span of 4 years, it has broken 2 times!
The first time it was my compressor, and I thought nothing of it. The second time I had about two technicians come, and they both said they weren't able to repair it, and if I were to get it repaired, it would cost a lot. I called and called LG; they said I could either replace the unit, which I'm assuming is my fridge, or a full refund, and mind this, my factory warranty has not hit the 5-year mark. So, I obviously chose the refund because clearly, I did not want to have an LG fridge anymore.
Days went by, and my refund had not come; maybe even a few weeks went by, so I called them, and they refused my refund even though they assured me I would get my refund. So they said a technician would come look at it, and they said it was junk and to get a new fridge.
So now I am currently speaking to my lawyer and suing LG. Thank you for your time, and I hope you take my message into consideration.

The 2nd time I called they said my case was never esculated, assigned another ticket and was told same thing I would be contacted within 24-48 hours, waited 72 hours called back and was told escalation team denied warranty coverage and that was that, nothing I could do. I'm guessing you didn't see the first line of my customer recommendation. Nothing stopping me.
I have investigated this. But maybe a 4 year old dryer that people buy to avoid American made crap that breaks right away, I dunno, shouldn't BREAK right away.
And maybe the solution shouldn't be a fixed price repair that costs nearly as much as a new unit. But maybe you didn't read that either.
I read all of your drivel. From mischaracterizing a 4yo appliance out of warranty as new, to your inane analysis of their out-of-warranty suggestion.
I saw a lot of whining and no detailed account of you following your own recommendation to seek out other repair options to prove your 30 minute, $15 part belief. So yes I did read it all.
Well, for what it's worth....this is an issue I'm actively attempting to resolve. That's really I thought what this site was for...to complain about issues experienced by consumers who are pissed at huge corporations who don't provide useful resolutions to problems.
But apparently I should not consider a 4 year old appliance to be young, not should I balk at a $400+ repair quote (sight unseen, regardless of what the problem ends up being) on a $650 appliance. Perhaps I should be like you and simp for a multinational, multi billion dollar corporation, and troll people who go to a site for a purpose with unhelpful and judgmental comments.
For what it's worth, forwarding my "whining" to customer service resulted in a voice mail from LG's Presidential Liaison. What did your comment result in other than making you look like an apologist for poor craftsmanship and customer service?
What’s stopping you from looking elsewhere for repair options? If it is out of warranty and they give you a repair estimate, move on if you don’t like it.
